I am finding it extremely difficult to install these screws, even when drilling pilot holes (which I really don't want to do for every hole - this is a large deck). Anybody know how to clean garden decking? Am hoping to clean the decking in the garden tomorrow afternoon if the weathers nice - it's quite dirty and has some green algae on it but the chemicals I've seen to do the job are VERY expensive. Decking restore (cuprinol) states that it restores decking to that 'as new' condition but it's £18 a tin! Then they recommend that you seal the boards afterwards (that's another £10) Anyone know if there's a cheaper way to do this? I've heard that bleach actually harms the wood so am reluctant to use that. Any suggestions?

Anybody know a safe way to treat decking that a rabbit goes on? My next-door neighbour's rabbit spends his days on our decking, but I'd like to treat the wood since it hasn't been done for 6 years. Do I need to protect my 5 year old decking? I have decking on my roof terrace in London, which must have been put in about 5 years ago. should i be concerned about broken roof decking visible from my attic? shortly after i had my roof replaced i went into the attic to inspect .....i found that many of the decking boards were broken or splintered, apparently by the roofing nails. in some places you can clearly see through to the underside of the felt on the other side. it rained really hard already, and i can't detect any leaks, but i am still concerned by these broken boards. i called the roofing company to come back and look at it, but i would appreciate any advice i could get. are there any honest roofers out there that can let me know if this is normal? is it normal for there to be some damage especially to the older decking boards during the process? thanks ahead of time!!!!!

2 years ago I bought composite decking from Menards called Green Tree, they stopped carrying it. Warranty info I need to find out where to go to for warranty it was supposed to have a 20 year warranty and no one can give me any info on who to contact and the decking is splitting pretty bad in some spots. How do I remove tar from wood decking? The deck is treated lumber but has not been stained. We had to temporarily tar paper and tar the seams of our "temporary" roof before the trusses arrived. Footprints are left on our deck from stepping in the tar. Any suggestions on removing it?
